At Unita, we provide both full-service marketing and strategic coaching to meet the evolving needs of mission-driven organizations, small businesses, and government agencies. Our services include social media management, email marketing, media campaigns, polcy advocacy, public relations, and government affairs.
Using research-driven strategies, we help our clients increase visibility, build credibility, and meet or exceed key goals, whether that means meeting fundraising targets, boosting ticket sales, driving outreach, or influencing policy outcomes. Our flexible approach allows clients to choose between hands-on support or coaching-style guidance to build internal capacity. At the heart of our work is a dedication to trust, transparency, and ethical communications. OWNER BIO
Erica Castillo is a Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Management Consultant with 20 years of experience navigating California’s public, legal, and nonprofit sectors. She specializes in leveraging research and data to drive impactful marketing and advocacy campaigns that influence policy and scale essential community programs and businesses.
Erica’s career is rooted in a long-standing commitment to equitable economic opportunities and community health, a mission that began with her foundational work in consumer assistance programs at the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Her deep expertise in the Sacramento ecosystem includes serving as District Director for a City Councilmember and as the Marketing and Programs Manager for a Property-Based Improvement District (PBID). Before launching her full-time consultancy in 2019, she also spent nearly a decade in the legal sector, managing casework, operations, and marketing for multiple civil litigation law firms.
A versatile strategist with a full-service management approach, Erica partners with local governments, small businesses, and nonprofits to design and promote initiatives, programs, and services that keep our local economies and communities thriving. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Sciences, along with professional certifications in Marketing and City Management.
